Apple has quietly raised the prices of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India by Rs. 2500. The Cupertino company had launched the handsets in India just over a month after their international launch last year.
The exact reason behind the increase in prices is still unknown. One of our sources suggested that the price increase is due to the fluctuations in the $/INR conversion rate, while another one claimed that it is due to the increased service tax percentage.
The new prices of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are as follows:
- 16GB – Rs. 56,000
- 64GB – Rs. 65,000
- 128GB – Rs. 74,000
- 16GB – Rs. 65,000
- 64GB – Rs. 74,000
- 128GB – Rs. 83,000
Thanks to the high demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple sold half a million units of the iPhones in India in the last quarter of 2014.
