Apple today announced that it will be participating in the “Hour of
Code” initiative from
Code.org again this year. Under this programme, the company will be hosting free workshops across its retail stores to get 6 years+ old kids familiar with coding.
This will be the third year that Apple has supported the ”Hour of Code” initiative from Code.org. Apple will also be holding a ‘Hour of Code’ workshop on December 10. This is a free one-hour workshop introducing beginners to the basics of computer programming.
In addition to the workshops, Apple will also be hosting
developers and organisations that support computer science
education in six events across the world. The events will be hosted by
Hadi Partovi, the CEO and cofounder of Code.org; Koji Sugiyama, CEO of
LoiLo Inc.; Grant Hosford, CEO of codeSpark; Andy Sum, developer of
Crossy Road; Jacqueline Rossi, creator of J’s Flashcards; and Danny
Yaroslavski; CEO and founder of Lightbot.
