December 8 has been a busy day for Apple software, as the company has released a flurry of new versions to its varied platforms.
On Tuesday, Apple released watchOS 2.1 to the public. With this release, it’s be
en just over two months since Apple released watchOS 2 to owners, and six weeks after Apple released watchOS 2.0.1. The new software can be installed through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone, where it’s located in the General section, and then selecting Software Update.
To update the Apple Watch, you’ll need to make sure that
it’s on the charger, that it has at least 50 percent battery life, and
that it remains within range of the iPhone it’s connected to through the
duration of the update.
As for what’s new in the software, it includes several tweaks and improvements, including improvements to language support. That means system language support now includes Arabic, Portuguese, Malay, Hungarian and others. There are new Complications for Islamic and Hebrew calendars, adds support for right-to-left user interfaces, and more.
Bug fixes are focused on third-party apps, Power Reserve Mode, the Calendar, and other areas.
