AT&T plans to hike the price of grandfathered unlimited plans to $35 per month

The large-scale wireless carriers in the United States aren’t handing out unlimited data plans anymore, but for those who have hung onto theirs, a minor change is in the works.

According to a report published by 9to5Mac, AT&T is planning on hiking the price of its grandfathered unlimited data plans, but only by a small margin. If the information gathered by the publication is true, the Big Blue carrier will shift monthly pricing for unlimited data to $35 per month, raising it from the current $30 recurring fee.
It’s a small price hike, and probably hardly a reason for anyone holding onto their unlimited plan to get rid of it, but certainly worth noting for the implications down the road. This is the first price alteration to the plan in over six years, though, so AT&T could simply be making a change now and not planning on doing anything more for quite some time down the road.
Do you still have an unlimited data plan? If you’re with AT&T, will this rumored price hike make you reconsider keeping it?
