Sonos speakers will begin streaming Apple Music on December 15

Apple Music and Sonos release date
When Apple Music launched earlier this year, Sonos speaker owners were dismayed to find that the music streaming service wasn’t supported by the speakers.
Now, via Sonos and its official blog, a launch date has finally been provided. According to the speaker company, Apple Music will begin streaming on the speakers on Tuesday, December 15 in beta form. According to Sonos, it’s launching in beta form to better build the service for the users out there in the wild, with the company planning to take in user’s feedback.
As far as features go, Apple Music listeners that stream to Sonos speakers will be able to listen to the content available within “For You,” “My Music,” and “New” sections, which means most of the bases are covered at this point. Save for Beats 1 Radio, which doesn’t appear to be included right out of the gate.
“Apple Music is a fantastic service, and you will have the ability to stream all your favorite features, including For You, New, Radio, and My Music through our smart speakers tuned for great sound in any or every room of your home. If you have family accounts, up to six of them can be added to your Sonos experience, so everyone in the house can listen to music their way. You can even share songs and playlists with each other in a unique way that only Sonos can deliver.”
Apple previously confirmed that Sonos support was coming for Apple Music in June of this year, with an expected launch date of “ASAP” after the initial launch. Waiting until December was probably quite the task for some Sonos owners using Apple Music, but better late than never, right?
