iPhone 5 To Get LTE Support on 36 More Carriers Next Week

During the earnings call, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook revealed that 36 more carriers will be offering LTE services to their iPhone and iPad customers next week.
In case you’re not aware, Apple doesn’t enable LTE on the iPhone 5 on a carrier’s network unless it passes the company’s own set of tests.
So it looks like these carriers have received Apple’s approval to offer LTE services to iPhone and iPad customers. Tim Cook said ”we’re adding 36 more carriers for LTE support. These carriers will be in countries that we are not currently supporting LTE.”
While Tim Cook did not provide the names of the carriers who will be offering LTE, he did mention that they are in regions like Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, the Philippines, and the Middle East.
Even though the iPhone 5 is available in more than 100 countries, only 24 carriers are offering LTE for the iPhone and iPad currently. Here’s the list of carriers currently offering LTE.
I’m assuming that it will be enabled via a carrier update. Let me know if your carrier offers LTE support for your iPhone 5 or iPad next week.
