Tuesday’s edition of App Recap,
a daily column that promotes new, updated and discounted apps for the
iPhone and iPad, is all about half-priced Doge and 8-bit graphics. This
roundup extends upon the in-depth app coverage
that Lory, Christian, Cody and our other writers offer during the
daytime, highlighting everything from new apps you didn’t know existed
to popular apps that are on sale for a limited time. If you are ready to
get your virtual tennis on, read ahead for today’s selection of apps…
New Apps

Join a squadron of military heroes on a dangerous mission in
Godzilla: Strike Zone, an app that Warner Bros recently launched
to accompany the upcoming Godzilla movie. Perform a series of air-drops
into distraught San Francisco, saving as many survivors as possible
from a city under siege from Godzilla. The best thing about the app is
its free with no in-app purchases. Godzilla is
available now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Tiny Tennis
is simple: move your player to hit the oncoming tennis balls, but avoid
flying water bottles. As you play, collect multiplier badges to boost
your score and earn four medals: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Game
Center integration lets you challenge family and friends, and you can
share your high scores on Twitter too. Get extra tennis courts from the
Court Shop. Tiny Tennis is
free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Mouse in the House
is a skill and strategy game in which the player must stand his or her
ground against King Fat Rat’s Army of Mischievous Mice, capturing mice
and lining them up in rows or columns of three. There are 70 levels with
unique solutions that the player must discover, using tools that are
awarded for capturing the most mice possible. Mouse in the House is
99 cents on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

If you are in search of a new physics game, look no further than
theBoxes!
for iPhone and iPad. The game is all about stacking and controlling
boxes across several different levels, with simple controls and detailed
graphics that are similar to the look of Angry Birds. If that sounds like something that interests you, theBoxes! is
available on the App Store for free with the option of in-app purchases.

If you like Minecraft, The Electric Toy Company promises that you’ll like its new game
Doug dug.
Doug is a Dwarf that likes to dig for buried treasures, and your task
is to help him on this quest to uncover shimmering jewels and precious
gold. But as you’re digging deeper and deeper, you’ll want to avoid the
colossal cave-ins, creepy monsters and bottomless pits. Doug dug is
99 cents on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Updated Apps
Google Maps received a major update today
with lane guidance for turn-by-turn navigation, voice search, quick
access to route overviews, offline maps, improved filtering for search
results, a “places to review” list and more. The app has also been
updated with both Uber and Contacts integration. Google Maps now sits at
version 3.0.0 and remains a
free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Fuzel,
an app for creating photo and animated collages, was updated with a new
Photo Picker feature in late March; however, some users had been
encountering issues with the tool, and today the app was bumped to
version 2.1.3 with a critical fix to resolve the Photo Picker crashing.
No other features or bug fixes appear to have been made. Fuzel is
free on the App Store for iPhone. Let us know how the update performs.
Tumblr for iOS was updated today
with the ability to theme your profile, akin to the desktop version of
the popular blogging platform. The new theming feature is called
Appearance, serving as a WYSIWYG type customization tool. The update
weighs in at 16.4 MB and brings the app to version 3.6. Tumblr is a
free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. If you’ve themed your mobile Tumblr profile, share a screenshot.

is a game in which you play as a Shiba Inu and cause chaos throughout
the city, throwing objects, bridges and people and exploring the world
as Doge would. If that sounds like fun to you, you’ll be happy to hear

Doge Simulator
on the App Store for 99 cents, versus its regular $1.99 price tag. Such a discount. Much impressive.

be left alive, so you must join him in his fight to death with a sword
equipped at hand. Avoid deadly traps and slash your enemies into bloody
