Apple provides details on 4K monitor support in OS X 10.9.3

Apple, today, updated a support document on its website with additional details on the changes and improvements it made to OS X 10.9.3 that enabled support for 4K monitors. After several beta revisions, Apple released OS X 10.9.3 to the public earlier this week.
According to Apple’s “Using 4K displays and TVs with Mac computers” suport page, the 2013 models of the Mac Pro and the Retina MacBook Pro now support several new displays including those from Dell and Panasonic. The list includes the Sharp PN-K321, ASUS PQ321Q, Dell UP2414Q, Dell UP3214Q, and the Panasonic TC-L65WT600.

Both the Mac Pro and the rMBP can output at 30Hz over single-stream transport (SST) and 60Hz using multi-stream transport, the latter of which was a feature previously available only on the Mac Pro. By default, the 4K monitors listed above support 30 Hz and must be configured for 60 Hz using the display’s manual controls.
Besides adding 4k monitor support, OS X 10.9.3 also the improves stability and security of your Mac along with the ability to sync contacts and calendars with an iOS device via USB.
