The Springboard is the home of all your apps, but without a jailbreak, it’s completely non-customizable. While there are definitely countless ways to customize the iOS Home Screen if you do have a jailbreak, an upcoming tweak by the name of Boxy 2 lets you rearrange your Springboard with ease — and it’s about to be released.
After this quick menu pops up, the main selector gives you many presets to choose from for icon organization, and choosing one will move the icons around with a smooth and polished animation. Despite the below video’s horribly annoying background music, it does a great job of showing you the depth of this tweak and how many features it truly offers. Within the actual Settings page for Boxy 2, there are options for specifically placing your Home Screen icons exactly as you want or, as I mentioned before, you can just choose a preset.
There are options for saving and restoring icon state (so that you can quickly switch between multiple manual presets), options to change the number of rows and columns on the Springboard, an overall killswitch at the top, and the obligatory link to the developer’s Twitter account located at the bottom. Notably, this tweak requires no respringing to see the changes you make, and they apply immediately after selecting them.
The developer of this tweak, NBQ5, notes that the tweak will be fully compatible with the iPad right out of the box, and will be shipping at the low price of just $1.00. You can expect Boxy 2 to appear on the ModMyi repo in the coming days.
