SmartTap: Tweak lets you unlock your iPhone by double tapping on the screen

If you have issues with your home or power button on your iPhone, or if you just want to take advantage of a really cool way to unlock your device, look no further. SmartTap is a new tweak that will allow you to double tap, slide up, or slide down to unlock your device. That’s pretty cool by itself, but this tweak allows you to do it while the device is asleep.
There are a few options that you can configure after you first install this tweak. Just jump into Settings>SmartTap and you’ll be presented with the settings panel. There are 3 gestures that you can configure for when the screen is off and 2 while the screen is on. Tapping on one of these section will present you with 3 different useful actions, turn on the screen, unlock device, or launch an application.

So, as you can see in the picture above, it’s pretty self explanatory. Select the gesture and assign it to an action. You also have some toggles for when the screen is on, but this is just an on/off setting. You can toggles on/off whether you want to be able to double-tap the home screen to lock the device as well as double-tapping the lock screen to lock the device.
“Smart touch detection” is probably another option you’ll want to leave toggled on. This helps prevent accidental touches while your iPhone is in your pocket. The “Prevent idle sleep” is also another one that really makes this tweak worth it. This is going to keep receiving digitizer events even when the device is asleep. This means that you’ll be able to swipe up/double tap/swipe down on your device to wake it up/unlock it/launch an app even if your device has been asleep for a long time. You can also turn on “Speak events” if you’d like, which will speak every gesture and action that is used.
