Innovative case uses electromagnetic energy to display Notifications on the back of your iPhone

Lunecase
A unique new iPhone case called Lunecase has gone up on Kickstarter which has managed to catch our attention. This accessory will notify users whenever there’s a message or an incoming phone call with a glowing set of LEDs on the back. Interestingly, the case doesn’t need a separate battery to work as it relies on electromagnetic energy from the device itself.

The case detects incoming calls based on the wavelength of your cell signal and displays the notification using the electromagnetic energy generated by the iPhone. By making innovative use of the useless waves into usable energy, the Luncecase doesn’t need to be charged nor does it affect an iPhone’s battery.
Due to the lack of a battery, the case is also as thin as it can be. Kickstarter backers can get the case with a pledge of $30 while a white model is available for $39. Interested users can get a personalized engraving for $99, which is quite decent too. It is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s as well as the iPhone 5c.
The cases will start shipping out by August 2014, so pledgers and interested buyers still have some months of waiting to do. For $30, the case certainly seems like good value, considering what it brings to the table. It’s almost reminiscent to the Dot View case we saw on the recently launched HTC One (M8), but a tad less retro.

The founder of Concepter Vlad Tislenko said:
“Accessories made for the iPhone can sometimes take the beauty and easy functionality away from the phone. Lunecase brings the back of your phone to life and enhances the natural iPhone functionality with no batteries, no cords and no bulk.”
Here’s the Apple-esque introductory video of Luncecase:

Lunecase has already passed its funding goal of $50,000.
If you wanted an LED indicator on your iPhone to alert you about incoming calls and messages, then Lunecase seems like a great alternative. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
